Shrub Design For Front Of House – If you want to trim your shrubs for what looks like more than a round ball or box, consider an ornamental landscaping design. While it may seem that you have just started cutting leaves and branches to shape a bush, there is actually a method to create a long-lasting design. You could think of it as a sculpture in progress. To help give shape to a bush with ease, use a form of shrubs to help guide the cuts so as not to permanently damage the bush.

Lift the plant or plants that will shape. Some topiary, such as those that appear to have two or more legs, may require several bushes to complete the form. Choose young plants and let them become the way you want, or select mature plants to trim. In any of the cases, the bushes need to be healthy with abundant vegetation along the branches and not only at the outer ends.

Wrap a shape of shrubs of appropriate size around the bushes. Fix the topiary form together using the connectors in the mounting kit, or the use of gardening wire. Cut off all excess vegetation that exists outside of the shrubbery form. Try not to take more than 3 inches of any branch of one at a time. If you take too much off, the branch may die. Trim the bush every three months during the growing season. Pruning stimulates the plant to grow more leaves, which makes it seem more complete.
